Natalie Rudd is an art historian, curator and writer with a strong knowledge of modern and contemporary art. She has substantial experience of managing collections, exhibitions, projects and learning programmes and has held curatorial positions at Arts Council Collection, Tate Liverpool and the University of Manchester. In her former role as Senior Curator of the Arts Council Collection, Natalie managed the sculpture collection at Longside, Yorkshire Sculpture Park (2003-21) and produced many touring exhibitions including Breaking the Mould: Sculpture by Women since 1945.

Natalie has written widely on modern and contemporary art. Her latest books, The Self-Portrait (2021) and Contemporary Art (2023), are published by Thames & Hudson. As an engaging public speaker, Natalie has delivered talks and chaired conversations across the UK. She has also delivered many lectures and seminars in higher education settings including University of Birmingham, University of York and Winchester School of Art.

Natalie gained a first class degree in Art History from King’s College, Cambridge. She is currently completing a PhD at the University of Birmingham, funded by Midlands4Cities. Her thesis explores precariousness in British sculpture by women, 1978-93.
